The British Association of Dermatologists (6) suggest that single-blade razors reduce pseudofolliculitis (ingrown hairs & bumps).

  • 1 blade is enough (4), no need to compensate for low quality steel with multiple blades.
  • Weighted razor glides across your skin, giving you a close shave without you needing to apply pressure.

Frequent Questions

What is a safety razor?

A traditional Double Edge Safety Razor, is the name for a shaving device with a protective barrier positioned between the edge of the cutting blade and the skin.

Traditional double edge safety razors have been around since 1880. They would have been the razor of choice for your father or grandfather before the cartridge system revolution in the 1970s and 80s.

Recent years have seen a rise in popularity for this classic form of shaving for a number of reasons. Replacement safety razor blades are considerably less expensive than cartridges (2,3), making them more economical for long term use. Only one blade and no lubrication strip tends to cause less irritation on skin prone to redness and itching after a shave (4,6). Also, due to the reduction in single use plastic, safety razors are better for the environment.

Is it easy to learn how to use a safety razor?

Safety razors require a slightly different technique so can take a bit of getting used to!

Kronos razors have an enclosed head design - this means that the corner of the blade is shielded and as little of the blade is exposed as possible - minimising your risk of nicks & cuts.

With the right technique you'll discover the smoothest shave of your life (4,6).

What is the right shaving technique?

Rather than pressing the razor against the skin, it is best to apply minimal pressure and let the high-quality blade do the work.

1. Shave in the direction of hair growth.

2. Use a shallow 30 degree angle.

3. Use short, gentle strokes and let the weight of the razor do the work.

Are safety razors good for sensitive skin?

Using a safety razor gives a close and clean shave, whilst avoiding irritation to the skin. Visit our blog for more information on how safety razors prevent in-grown hairs.

Is your razor unisex?

Whether you're looking for a female safety razor for bikini area or a mens safety razor for your beard, our razor is designed to to be 100% unisex.

With our enclosed head design, the blade of the corner is shielded, meaning the razor is manoeuvrable and can be used in difficult to reach areas.

How long do the razor blades last?

Depending on the thickness of the hair and frequency of use, a blade may only need to be replaced after several weeks. Because each side of the double-edged blade is used independently, the blades can last up to twice as long compared to multi-blade cartridges.

Additionally, the blades cost pennies, you will not feel pressured to extend the life of them and compromise the quality of your shave. You can replace your blades more often without burning a hole in your wallet (2,3).
