How to Care for Your Safety Razor
After each shave
Rinse the razor head under warm running water with the blade in place. Shake off excess water gently. Stand it upright on a razor stand to air-dry. That's all most people need to do.
Weekly clean
Unscrew the head, remove the blade carefully, and rinse each component. A soft toothbrush with warm water removes any soap residue from the threads. Dry before reassembling.
What to avoid
- Leaving it in standing water — standing water corrodes chrome over time. A razor stand keeps it dry between uses.
- Harsh cleaners or bleach — mild soap and water is enough. Aggressive chemicals can strip the plating.
- Wiping the blade — never dry the blade with cloth. It removes the fine edge.
Long-term care
A well-maintained Kronos razor will last years. If the chrome shows signs of tarnish, a small amount of chrome polish on the handle (not the blade) and a gentle buff will restore the shine. Replace blades regularly regardless of how well you maintain the razor.
