Will I cut myself?

Less than you'd fear. The blade's corners (the part that catches) sit tucked away, so only the safe edge meets skin. With the right technique it forgives from the off: a slower first week, we won't pretend otherwise, then second nature.

Frequent Questions

What does the Doric Ritual Set include?

The razor, its stand, ten blades and a Sandalwood shaving cream, in bamboo or chrome. The simplest way to begin; nothing else is needed for the first shaves.

How does the Doric Portico refill relate to the Ritual Set?

The set is yours to keep. The Doric Order then resupplies it, ten blades and a Sandalwood cream at a time, with delivery on the House, and you can pause it whenever you like.

“You wonder why you've been using 5 blades held together with plastic when one does the job as well, if not better. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Welcome back to the 70s.”

Written by Ivan S.

“My neck used to look like it was covered in molehills. Take your time, don't rush, and now there's nothing. A fantastic shave, and it looks great on the side too.”

The First Shave

A safety razor asks a little more of you than a cartridge. For the first week you'll go slower, then it becomes second nature, and the shave is better for it.

Let the weight work

No pressure means no nicks. The weight is enough.

Use short strokes

Short, gentle passes, skin held taut.

Take your time

Five unhurried minutes. That is rather the point.

And if it isn't for you: 100 days to send it back, and a lifetime guarantee, blades for pennies, if you keep it.

The Anatomy

Considered, Piece by Piece

I - An enclosed head

The blade's corners sit shielded, so it forgives as you learn. Nicks designed out.

II - One blade

What barbers have used for centuries. Less drag, calm skin.

III - Balanced weight

Solid, water-resistant bamboo. You guide; it shaves.

IV - A drying stand

Elevates the blade between shaves, so it lasts longer.

The Doric Ritual Set is a wet shaving kit for starting simply: a razor, a stand, ten blades, and a cream, priced for less than most people spend on cartridge refills in a single year, with nothing extra added to raise that price.

A razor, a stand to dry it on, ten blades to start with, and a shaving cream cover the first weeks of a single-blade routine. The stand keeps the blade dry between shaves, which is what makes ten blades last as long as they do, and a standard double-edge blade fits the razor from Kronos or elsewhere once they run out.

Cartridge razors run fifty to a hundred pounds a year in refills for most people, money that keeps leaving in small amounts indefinitely. This wet shaving kit is one purchase, and further razor blades cost pennies each, so the arithmetic favours the razor within the first year and keeps favouring it after.

The adjustment is short and stated plainly: forgiving from the first shave, honest about the short curve, and second nature within a week or two. Choosing the Doric Order keeps blades and cream arriving as the set is used up, sized for what a simple ritual needs rather than ranked below the other two Kronos Orders. A fuller Order costs more because it holds more, never because it is better.
